COVID-19 Restrictions for Hearing Clinics
At the Tasmanian Centre for Hearing we put the health and well being of our clients first during these uncertain times due to the Covid 19 pandemic. Where possible clients over the age of 60 should stay home and keep safe.
The Commonwealth Department of Health recognises Hearing Clinics as an essential health service. However, Audiologists have been asked to implement the 1.5 m physical distance requirements with clients unless an emergency assessment is required. The correct use of PPE is then needed. Obtaining the appropriate PPE which is a limited resource is difficult at present and we believe should be going to front line medical personnel.
These guidelines have resulted in our clinicians being unable to see clients for regular appointments.
- batteries
- repairs and maintenance of hearing devices
- remote programming (where the technology supports this service)

Our office is open between the hours of 9.00 am – 5.00 p.m. Monday to Friday (Easter excepted) for any queries that you may have.
